Six credible routes for Vaani across circular materials, design research, sustainable textiles, craft and illustration.
Lead with a small, useful professional project and make it easy for the host to say yes to a reduced version: a one-day visit, researcher interview or portfolio review.
Prepare four items: one-page CV, portfolio link with 6–10 relevant projects, proof of the ELISAVA master’s degree, and a one-page concept note tailored to the host.
Send one focused email. Use the proposed title from the relevant profile, state 22–30 September, explain why this host, list three outputs, and ask for a 20-minute call.
Follow up after two business days. Reply in the same thread with a three-line reminder. If there is still no response, call once during Taiwan office hours and ask who handles visits or international exchange.
Offer a smaller scope. If a full week is impossible, request a half-day orientation plus one interview, then conduct the remaining research independently in Taipei.
Confirm the facts in writing. Exact dates, location, unpaid/observational status, activities, deliverables, photography rules, a named host contact, and any insurance or visitor requirements.
Only after acceptance, request a letter. It should use the host’s letterhead and truthfully state the agreed visit. The host—not Vaani—must write or approve it.
